The artist about this work: Booty call – a late night summons, often made via telephone, to arrange clandestine sexual liaisons on an ad hoc basis. (Urban Dictionary) In this project I choose text messages sent to me of the above character, which I saw in an interesting way in colour due to my synaesthesia. It is as much about the text written, as it is about the composition of the painting, colours and any further visual elements. Conceptually it is about me making funny remarks on our civilisation and the life in big cities, such as London, where I live. It is not to say that I am against late night summons, or am I for it – it is more about my humorous vision of our absurd human nature.
