Besides using india ink on thin paper, here I'm using grid foil to accentuate the different textures of the character's clothes. The challenge lies in dealing with the thin paper, which gets oversaturated with ink quite easily, making it hard for the grid foil to stick. Grid foil was used regularly in older mangas but has mostly been replaced digitally.
