I am currently enrolled at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and started my studies of fine arts in 2014.
For my recent paintings I’ve been collecting different kinds of watery brushstrokes (watercolor) I make on paper. I vary between soaked wet and dry brushes, diverse bristles, fast and slow strokes, curved or stiff movements. I select strokes and imitate their watery qualities and irregularities of the surface with oil paint on wood. I’m absorbed by the transformations from paper to wood, ultimately from water to oil, expanding a few seconds into months. Polar opposites are able to coexist within the painting.
I also work on monochromes, these deal more with materiality, reflective surfaces and color. I use foils, different kinds of fabrics and pigments, achieving different appearances caused by change in light and time.
