Raen Barnsley

About

Raen Barnsley works across London and Warwickshire. Her practice is concerned with how the capabilities and aesthetics within contemporary imaging software can portray her dyslexic tendencies. With a practice spanning painting, sculpture, print and installation, Barnsley creates layered compositions by experimenting with form, colour, and texture. Raen has exhibited nationally and internationally. Achieving her MA in Fine Art in 2019 at City and Guilds of London Art School, she shortly after obtained representation for her sculpture work. Raen won The 2020 Jealous Prize, resulting in her work permanently entering the V&A Museum, London. Her MA degree show installation was also shortlisted for Degree Art’s Sculpture Award and Directors Award for 2020. In 2017, Raen was one of the few undergraduate artists to win a place in the prestigious Bloomberg New Contemporary alumni.
