Artist Info: Bislacchi (b. 1995, Italy), pseudonym of Matteo Santacroce, is a visual artist working between London, Milan and Rome. His practice spans painting, sculpture and installation, focusing on transforming traditional painting supports—canvas, stretcher and wooden structures—into active, spatial elements of the work. He moved to London in 2014 and graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from City & Guilds of London Art School in 2018, after an earlier diploma in graphic design and photography. Bislacchi’s relief-like works push painting beyond the flat surface: folded, protruding and “flowing” canvases negotiate space, form and colour while drawing on references from medieval and Renaissance art to Italian Transavanguardia.
