Ellie Walker

Original Painting

Year:
2018

Medium:
Mixed media on canvas

Unframed:
100 x 100 cm

Education:
  University of Brighton

Artist Info:
Ellie Walker is a British painter from Essex whose work serves as a visual diary grappling with anxiety, memory, and personal history. After starting her career as an interior decorator, she returned to education in her late twenties and earned a BA in Fine Art from London Metropolitan University and an MA from Central Saint Martins. Walker builds her paintings by first creating childlike, diary-like drawings from observation, imagination, and photographs – then translating and fragmenting those motifs into layered painted narratives. Using a deliberately naïve, mixed-media approach (including experimental “paint-skin” techniques where dried acrylic is peeled and collaged), she allows accidental forms and textures to guide each piece. The resulting works are expressive reinterpretations of personal experiences, rather than literal depictions, often described by the artist as “visual diary entries” of her emotional life.

Lars Kreyßig
Original Painting
‍ ‍
Year:             2025

Medium: Ink on paper

Unframed:  29.7 x 21 cm

Education:   Academy of Media Arts Cologne

Artist Info: Lars Kreyßig (b. 1981, Leipzig, Germany) is a Cologne-based artist working in drawing, painting and photography. He studied at the European Film College in Denmark and at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne, graduating with distinction in 2007. His practice centres on minimal line drawings and abstract works built from meticulously repeated dots and lines—some containing hundreds of thousands of individual marks—which he describes as “little sculptures” on paper. In the series Translating the Becher Houses he pays homage to Bernd and Hilla Becher, turning their iconic framework-house photographs into reduced, architectural compositions of lines, angles and patterns. Kreyßig’s photographs have been shown at major art fairs such as Art Cologne and Berliner Liste, and his short films have screened at more than 50 international festivals, including Cannes, earning awards such as the BMW Short Film Award for best German short film.

Theresa Kallrath‍

Original Painting
‍ ‍
Year:
2025

Medium:
Mixed media on paper

Unframed:
30 × 21.5 cm (A4)

Education:
  Kunstakademie Düsseldorf

Artist Info:
Theresa Kallrath is a German abstract painter known for large-format, color-saturated paintings created through an intuitive, process-driven approach. She studied at Konstskolan Lund in Sweden and the Beaux-Arts in Paris before completing her Meisterschüler in Prof. Anzinger’s class at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Kallrath’s paintings deliberately avoid predefined imagery – instead, she lets the act of painting guide her, embracing moments of chance as “driving forces” in her process. The resulting works (often titled associatively after positive moods or spirits they evoke) are vibrant acrylic abstractions applied with brushes, scrapers, wooden slats and even her hands. Kallrath’s career has been marked by international exhibitions and collaborations (her work has been supported by Mercedes-Benz, UNICEF and others), and a curator notes that her paintings’ unity and energy come from the young artist’s ability to find logic in the unintended – sticking to an internal rhythm born from happenstance. Raen Barnsley

Original Painting

Year:
2023

Medium:
Mixed media on wood

Unframed:
12 x 10 cm

Education:

Artist Info:
Raen Barnsley works across London and Warwickshire. Her practice is concerned with how the capabilities and aesthetics of contemporary imaging software can portray her dyslexic tendencies. A 2019 MFA graduate of City & Guilds of London Art School, Barnsley’s work spans painting, sculpture, print and installation – creating layered compositions by experimenting with form, colour, and texture. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, and shortly after graduation obtained gallery representation for her sculptural work. Raen won the 2020 Jealous Prize, resulting in her work entering the V&A Museum in London, and her MA degree show installation was shortlisted for multiple awards in 2020 (including Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2017 as an undergraduate). Barnsley’s eerie yet humorous artworks convey unease through a childlike light-heartedness, often addressing cultural amnesia and lost identity with a distinctive mix of digital-inspired imagery and traditional media.

Manuela Karin Knaut

Original Painting
‍ ‍
Year:            2017

Medium:    Acrylic, ink and spraypaint on paper

Unframed: 103 × 77 cm

Education: University of the Witwatersrand

Artist Info: Manuela Karin Knaut (b. 1970) is a German abstract painter and installation artist based in Braunschweig, Germany. She holds a Master of Arts in Fine Art from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, following earlier studies in art education at Justus-Liebig University in Gießen. Knaut maintains a large studio and print workshop in Braunschweig and a second studio in Johannesburg, a dual base that informs the energetic, globally inflected character of her work. Working primarily with painting and mixed media, she builds heavily layered surfaces using acrylics, spray paint, ink and collage, incorporating paper scraps, photographs, fabric and text in a process of gluing, sewing, nailing and erasing. Her compositions “hover between the derelict and the precious,” capturing a tenuous balance in vibrant colour, gesture and line. Knaut is a member of BBK, GEDOK, the International Association of Art (IAA/AIAP) and VANSA, and has exhibited internationally, including solo shows at 99 Loop Gallery (Cape Town) and GROVE, as well as numerous curated presentations on platforms such as Artsy and Ideel Art.

Anna Kolosova‍ ‍
Original Painting
‍ ‍
Year:             2021

Medium:      Spray and marker on wood

Unframed:  120 x 90 cm

Education:   Central Saint Martins

Artist Info: Anna Kolosova is a London-based contemporary artist working in an expanded field of painting. Her abstract, mixed-media works combine energetic mark-making with fragments of text, found imagery, and occasional objects—balancing an urban visual language with classical compositional ideas such as the Golden Ratio. Kolosova experiences synaesthesia, and her practice often translates sound, smell, numbers, and language into colour, rhythm, and form. This sensibility extends into her live “Synesthetic Action Painting” performances, where she responds in real time to music or scent, making private sensory crossovers visible for an audience. Anna holds an MA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins and has exhibited internationally across the UK, Europe, and the US. Alongside her studio practice, she curates projects and collaborates across disciplines. ‍
