Artist Info: Goia Mujalli is a Brazilian-born artist based in London whose practice spans painting and textile-inflected mixed media. She studied painting at the Slade School of Fine Art (BA) and completed an MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art (2017). Her work is often rooted in research into plants and fruits associated with Brazil and their histories of movement and migration, using color, rhythm, and layered mark-making to evoke organic forms, memory, and material transformation. Mujalli has presented solo projects including a carne das folhas (Galeria Mercedes Viegas, Rio de Janeiro, 2022) and flor de papel (following a residency in Salento, Italy, 2021). Her work has also been shown in international fair and gallery contexts, and she received the Ashurst Art Prize (2018).
