Artist Info:   Theresa Kallrath is a German abstract painter known for large-format, color-saturated paintings created through an intuitive, process-driven approach. She studied at Konstskolan Lund in Sweden and the Beaux-Arts in Paris before completing her Meisterschüler in Prof. Anzinger’s class at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Kallrath’s paintings deliberately avoid predefined imagery – instead, she lets the act of painting guide her, embracing moments of chance as “driving forces” in her process. The resulting works (often titled associatively after positive moods or spirits they evoke) are vibrant acrylic abstractions applied with brushes, scrapers, wooden slats and even her hands. Kallrath’s career has been marked by international exhibitions and collaborations (her work has been supported by Mercedes-Benz, UNICEF and others), and a curator notes that her paintings’ unity and energy come from the young artist’s ability to find logic in the unintended – sticking to an internal rhythm born from happenstance.
